Today marks an exciting milestone as the Video Game History Foundation has unveiled their digital library of research resources, now available in early access. At this initial stage, the library boasts a collection of over 1,500 hard-to-find video game magazines, all fully searchable. It also includes rare game development materials, unique artwork, press kits, promotional content, and even more treasures that are seldom seen by the public.
If you’d like to explore this extensive collection, head over to Library.GameHistory.Org.
The launch features two standout collections: the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. Previously, we at NWR were fortunate enough to use select parts of the Mark Flitman collection for our 30th anniversary documentary on Star Fox and an in-depth look at Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. These projects were created in partnership with the Video Game History Foundation. On the other hand, the Cyan collection offers an impressive compilation of over 100 hours of footage documenting the creation of the Myst series.
