Since its full release in October 2022, Poncle has been dedicated to keeping Vampire Survivors fresh for players. They’ve launched six paid DLC expansions alongside numerous updates, significantly enhancing the game with more characters, weapons, and stages. Their most recent addition, the Ode to Castlevania DLC, dropped by the end of October 2024. This expansion introduced over 20 characters from the Castlevania series and more than 40 fresh weapon types, making it a substantial update.
The latest roadmap doesn’t follow a strict, linear layout. It references past content like Ode to Castlevania and its character Hammer, alongside older releases such as the Contra-inspired Operation Guns DLC from May and February’s free Space 54 update. Amidst these references, certain keywords stand out—Pyroclasm, West Woods, House, and Final Flight. It’s unclear if these represent new stages or larger updates, leaving fans speculating. The social media team behind Vampire Survivors encourages players to delve into the details to decipher the roadmap.
It seems that Poncle intentionally crafted the enigmatic roadmap, as their Twitter post wished players “good luck working out what’s next.” Interacting with the community, they’ve offered playful responses to guesses, such as the suggestion to make Vampire Survivors playable on a Dance Dance Revolution mat. However, one clear takeaway is the confirmation of additional achievements coming to the game.
This isn’t the first instance of Vampire Survivors presenting a roadmap shrouded in intrigue. Back in late December 2023, a similar, albeit non-animated, swirling roadmap revealed names of upcoming updates, some of which have now become part of the 2024 lineup.
