Massive Entertainment rolled out Title Update 1.2 for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora while simultaneously launching the game’s latest expansion pack. This exciting release happened just in time for the game’s nearing first anniversary.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, developed as an open-world adventure, is inspired by the beloved sci-fi film series crafted by James Cameron. Released on December 7, 2023, by Ubisoft, this game has seen numerous updates aimed at enhancing gameplay, boosting game stability, and resolving technical glitches. The newest update continues this trend, introducing a fresh locale and addressing an abundance of bugs.
Unveiled on November 28, the same day the intriguing Secret of the Spires became available, this update and expansion bring fresh air to the game. The paid DLC ushers players into the scenic Spires of the Clouded Forest and unfolds a new story campaign. It’s packed with side quests, new activities, skills, and gear to explore. Initially planned for a November 26 release, the DLC faced a slight delay due to unexpected last-minute issues.
A key feature of this update is the integration of PlayStation 5 Pro support for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. With the advanced console, players can now witness the breathtaking realm of the Na’vi at 60 FPS when playing in Quality Mode, doubling the standard PS5 frame rate. Alongside this smoother performance, the game offers increased resolution, thanks to Sony’s state-of-the-art PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI upscaling tech that heightens image quality even if the game doesn’t directly support the console.
Title Update 1.2 also empowers players to utilize skill points, unveiling and enhancing multiple abilities for the flying Ikran mount. Additionally, it resolves significant bugs, including the infamous issue of players receiving rewards without quest completion.
To accommodate this update, PC users need 24.32 GB of free space, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users require 18 GB and 17.5 GB, respectively, for installation.
