TT Games has quietly been crafting a new LEGO adventure, set to be unveiled by 2026. This upcoming release will be their first since a hiatus that was significantly extended due to various industry and internal challenges. These included the pandemic’s aftermath and some pivotal departures from their leadership team.
Since their inception in 2005, TT Games has delighted fans with 37 LEGO titles. Their latest, “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga,” received wide acclaim when it launched in April 2022, bringing a fresh take on a beloved universe to both PC and console gamers.
Recently, industry insider Jason Schreier hinted on the Kinda Funny Gamescast about TT Games nearing the finish line on their next LEGO title. He suggested the game might debut as soon as next year but cautioned that 2025 or 2026 is more probable, given the studio’s current development pace.
Earlier this month, Schreier also touched on this project while discussing broader issues at WB Games, including the now-cancelled Wonder Woman game from Monolith Productions. This marked the first time Schreier has provided a tentative timeline for TT Games’ next big project.
So, what’s been causing the slowdown at TT Games? Since 2019, the prolific studio has released only one title, a dramatic dip from their average output of over 1.5 games annually. This industry-wide trend of longer development cycles in the post-pandemic era partly explains their reduced pace. Additionally, the significant loss of experienced talent—including founder Jon Burton and design leader Arthur Parsons, who left to start 10:10 Games—has disrupted their operations. This exodus, which saw 24 employees following suit, amounted to 6% of TT Games’ workforce at the time.
With this background, there’s a lot riding on TT Games’ next venture into the LEGO universe. Whether it arrives in 2025 or 2026, fans and industry observers alike will be watching closely, hopeful that the studio’s storied approach to blending humor, creativity, and nostalgic IPs will once again shine brightly.
