Hello, fellow gamers! The Honkai: Star Rail dev team here, eager to reconnect with you. We’ve been hard at work, and we’re excited to unveil a sneak peek of what’s in store for version 2.7, titled “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn,” launching December 4. This update marks the final chapter before the Astral Express embarks on its journey to the mystical Amphoreus, better known as the Eternal Land. It’ll wrap up the current storyline in Penacony, setting the stage for thrilling new tales in version 3.0.
Let’s take a moment to recap—Black Swan suggested that the Crew set their sights on Amphoreus, a realm so mysterious that even the legendary Aeon of the Trailblaze, Akivili, never managed to uncover its secrets. Filled with a mix of curiosity and caution, Navigator Miss Himeko is determined to gather all the intel she can about this tantalizing destination. Meanwhile, the Crew makes one final stop in Penacony, where they’re reunited with old comrades, creating lasting memories as they bid farewell before launching into their next big adventure.
Returning to the limelight, we’ve got some familiar faces. Memories of that unforgettable performance at the Penacony Grand Theater still resonate with vivid clarity. It’s more than just the Astral Express or Penacony that’s awakened from its slumber—Mr. Sunday has too. There’s something profoundly moving about stepping on stage alongside Mr. Sunday once again. Having stepped down from his prestigious role as the leader of the Oak Family, he’s choosing to “descend to the mortal realm and roam its lands. Experience the world without pretense.” Shedding the blessings of Harmony and Order, Sunday is on a quest to realize his vision of utopia in a mortal guise. He’s returned to Penacony with help from the enigmatic Pepeshi, Wonweek, driven by a singular desire—to deliver one last, unforgettable performance before embarking on his journey. Sunday’s new robe and hood serve a dual purpose, refreshing his appearance while cleverly concealing his identity for this final show on the Planet of Festivities.
On the gameplay front, Sunday emerges as a 5-star Imaginary character with unique support abilities. His skill allows an ally to spring into action immediately, along with boosting their damage output. Should that ally be accompanied by a Summon, both parties get to act right away, further amplifying the damage boost. When Sunday unleashes his Ultimate, he generates energy for an ally, transforming them and their Summon into “The Beatified,” gifted with a halo that significantly enhances their critical damage.
Now, let’s talk about another standout character, Fugue, who everyone once knew as Tingyun. Once a tactful foxian, her name, looks, and identity have all been snatched away. Though fate cast her a sliver of hope, the mark of Destruction still stirs inside her. Surviving the harrowing encounter with Phantylia in version 1.2’s main storyline, Tingyun owes her life to Madam Ruan Mei of the Genius Society, who offered her a second chance. Recently, Himeko and Welt visited Madam Ruan Mei, deciding to escort Miss Tingyun back to her rightful place, reigniting her journey.
Fugue, stepping onto the stage as a 5-star Fire character, offers invaluable support by helping an ally reduce enemy Toughness, transcending any Type Weakness. While Fugue is in play, adversaries are hindered by the Cloudflame Luster state. Once this is depleted, they suffer Break Damage anew. Additionally, when team members attack these Weakness Broken enemies, they deal Super Break Damage. Fugue’s Technique is another ace up her sleeve, bolstering Break Effects for ally characters. Her Ultimate deals Fire Damage across all opponents, ignoring Weakness Type to cut down on Toughness with absolute efficiency.
Returning in version 2.7’s warp event are the limited 5-star characters, General Jing Yuan and Firefly. They’ll appear in the first and second halves of the event, respectively. Renowned for their formidable support, these characters are indispensable to your future quests.
Version 2.7 isn’t just introducing new characters and narratives; it’s also expanding gameplay features. Step aboard the Astral Express’ new Party Car—a realm where elegance meets nostalgia. This spacious area offers a sleek marble bar, a classic bartending robot, and breathtaking views of the cosmos. Here, you can unwind with a drink alongside the Express Crew or lose yourself in the mesmerizing vista, letting your thoughts wander.
Ascend the stairs to discover the Trailblazer’s personal quarters, now a versatile space to customize in the Cosmic Home Décor Guide event. What began as an empty storage room can now turn into your personal haven, featuring cozy corners like a bedroom or a bathroom. As you complete tasks and earn Express Funds, your space takes shape, echoing the progress of your starbound journey.
Thrilling news ahead: the Relic system is getting an upgrade in version 3.0. You’ll be able to choose not only a Relic’s Main Stat but also its Subsidiary Stats, leveraging specialized tools during synthesis. With the help of the new item, Wishful Resin, alongside Self-Modeling Resin, both Main and Sub Stats can be configured simultaneously to perfection.
Before signing off, let’s not forget Pom-Pom’s discovery when organizing the Trailblazer’s storage boxes! From version 2.7 through to the end of 3.2, players can claim a ‘Gift of the Express,’ allowing the selection of one regular 5-star character. Our expedition continues, enriched by the company of old friends and new allies. Let’s embark on this cosmic journey and continue the fight, side-by-side.
That’s all from us on version 2.7. Keep your eyes peeled—more surprises are looming just around the corner. We’re all buzzing with excitement, and it seems our venerable ally Herta, master of the Herta Space Station, is fully prepared for the upcoming escapades. Mark your calendars for December 4 and gear up for an epic adventure!
