Pizza Hut has ventured into an exciting new territory by blending the appealing realms of deliciously cheesy food and gaming consoles with their latest creation, the PIZZAWRMR. This gadget, designed for the Sony PlayStation 5, is not just any typical accessory—it keeps your pizza warm while you dive into your favorite gaming adventures. However, don’t expect to find this in stores or as a raffle prize. Pizza Hut Canada has opened it up for public creativity by providing the 3D printing files online for free. Anyone can sign up, download, customize, and print their own PIZZAWRMR.
Inspired by the restaurant’s distinctive red roof, the PIZZAWRMR features a lid that lifts like a laptop, offering easy access to your savory slices. Pizza Hut claims the warmer can accommodate several slices at once. Using the console’s hot exhaust, it channels warm air around the pizza, illustrating what they call “science and engineering for the greater good.”
Pizza Hut Canada’s download includes STL files along with a detailed PDF guide. You’ll get 3D printer files for components like the body, lid, manifold, and stands. The PDF specifies that the design is tailored for consoles with rear ventilation approximately measuring 11.7 by 1.31 inches. To print the PIZZAWRMR, your 3D printer needs a generous 15 by 15-inch bed, which may limit options unless you break the model into parts. Printers like the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max or Prusa XL could handle the task effectively.
Alongside this technological endeavor is the practical concern of keeping your PlayStation clean. To safeguard it from rogue crumbs and greasy splatters, Pizza Hut suggests using a 34 x 23 x 2.5 cm foil tray inside the PIZZAWRMR. Switching to metric terms for the tray might be due to Canada’s preferences. Their final tip is to start gaming to pre-warm the PIZZAWRMR, then load your medium pizza slices into the tray for optimal warmth.
While fast-food brands dabbling in unique tech gadgets to engage gamers is not groundbreaking, Pizza Hut isn’t the first to explore this path. Notably, back in 2020, KFC introduced the KFConsole. Initially an amusing idea, it eventually turned into a real product, complete with an Intel NUC and a compartment to keep fried chicken toasty.
So, as you set out to combine gastronomic indulgence with intense gaming, keep an eye out for Pizza Hut’s livestream on the 29th to see the PIZZAWRMR in full swing. Gaming and pizza—what could be a better pairing?
