Palia takes you to a beautifully crafted fantasy universe where humans, having recently re-emerged, find themselves among friendly elves and helpful robots. Throughout its beta phase, Singularity 6, the game’s developer, has been continuously enhancing the experience by introducing new activities in the vibrant underground market of Kilima village, as well as the expansive Bahari Bay. These updates have made exploring the world even more enticing. However, nothing beats the warmth of your own space, and the latest Holiday Homestead patch, launched this Wednesday, introduces delightful new activities for players to indulge in at their homesteads.
In Palia, each player has a plot of land they can transform into whatever suits their fancy—most commonly, an inviting home base. Yet, if you take a stroll through community areas, you might stumble upon impressive creations like gigantic dinosaurs, quaint movie theaters, or serene forest glades. During the inaugural Winterlights celebration in 2023, which is Kilima’s equivalent of Christmas, additional seasonal items like festive trees and twinkling lights became available for players to decorate their spaces.
This time around, Singularity 6 has chosen to bring that charming experience of gathering for board games at a friend’s place into the game. The town’s ever-busy cook, Reth, is stationed at the underground black market, offering sets of dice and two game boards—one featuring a classic checkered design and the other reminiscent of Snakes and Ladders. Players are encouraged to craft their own rules, and it’ll be intriguing to see the unique and complex games the community dreams up.
Beyond board games, there are a plethora of new cosmetic options available. Hundreds of items can now be repainted, including the sleek Investigator set. Decorating can be quite an engaging pastime in Palia, given the myriad furniture styles across various collections. With more color tints now available, the variety has expanded even further. Moreover, Singularity 6 has introduced 16 new styles of curtains and drapes, offering the perfect finishing touch for any room.
While game boards, curtains, and furniture tints are permanent additions, there’s also some seasonal content to enjoy during the Winterlight festivities. Players can partake in snowball fights in the town square, among other activities. Looking ahead, players can anticipate another Maji Market event and the exciting addition of a new region known as the mysterious Elderwood.
