NVIDIA and AMD are reportedly set to compete fiercely in the mid-range GPU market, with plans to introduce cost-effective options for gamers in May.
## NVIDIA & AMD Set to Capture the Mid-Range GPU Market with RTX 5060 & RX 9060 XT Releases
Currently, gamers looking for budget-friendly GPU options have limited choices. NVIDIA’s latest models have been scarce, pushing prices well above their MSRPs, while AMD’s RX 9070 series is also facing high demand, making it tough to find at retail prices. However, news from Benchlife suggests both companies are ready to introduce new mid-range models, potentially launching as soon as next month.
First up is NVIDIA. They plan to roll out the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. This card boasts an 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM setup, clocking at 28 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. Compared to the RTX 4060, it will consume more power, with a 35W increase in TDP. Here’s what to expect:
– 25% more CUDA cores
– Unchanged memory capacity
– Enhanced GDDR7 memory speed
– 64% more bandwidth
– 30% higher power rating
Meanwhile, AMD is gearing up to release the Radeon RX 9060 XT. Unveiling at Computex on May 21 and potentially hitting stores by June, this GPU uses the Navi 44 die with a 128-bit interface, available in both 8GB and 16GB versions, similar to NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. It features 2,048 SPs, half of the RX 9070 XT, with game clocks at 2620 MHz and boost speeds reaching 3230 MHz. It promises impressive performance for 1080p and 2K gaming.
We’ll be reporting live from Computex 2025 with all the latest on these NVIDIA and AMD launches, hopefully bringing you exclusive first looks. The mid-range GPU sector is heating up, and May could mark a pivotal moment in this competition.
