Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has shifted its release date once again, this time landing on February 4, 2025—one week earlier than its last scheduled date. Originally, back in August, the game was delayed to February 11, 2025. But in a twist, it’s now set to arrive sooner, making it an unusual situation where it’s both late and early. Quite the juggling act!
This new date was revealed through a tweet and an accompanying video from Warhorse Studios. Their global PR manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, shared some insights beyond just the date change. With a casual “it is what it is,” he mentioned that a fresh story trailer would be released today, December 5.
He also dropped the news that “KCD2 is now gold.” For those not in the know, this means the game is essentially done and they’re now focusing on fine-tuning and bug squashing. So, it sounds like all systems are go, much to the delight of the legion of Steam users who have the game on their wishlists—something Warhorse humorously highlighted in their video message.
Adding to the buzz, Warhorse Studios tweeted: “Big news: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will arrive at your homes on FEBRUARY 4TH 2025!⚔️ With the new launch date creeping up a bit sooner, more exciting announcements are on the horizon.” The wait gets a little shorter, and there’s a brand new story trailer dropping today, December 5.
In line with reaching this milestone, Stolz-Zwilling mentioned that PC and console specifications will be revealed later today. Console players have more to cheer about, as KCD2 will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro and will come with quality and performance modes on both Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Reflecting on a sneak peek from the summer, my colleague, Connor, observed, “It’s very much like the first game but polished to a higher standard. There’s less awkwardness, fewer frustrations, and it just looks and plays better overall. There’s more to do and more ways to do it. Having spent only a few hours with it, I might not see a clear hit yet, but it’s like watching a well-executed pitch—it’s all set for a big swing.”
Are you excited to finally dive into this adventure on February 4 next year? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
