Intel has announced that its XeSS technology is now compatible with more than 150 games, and they are gearing up to expand this support even further with XeSS 2 just entering the scene.
Intel’s XeSS: From Over 150 Supported Titles Now to Welcoming XeSS 2
Breaking new ground in the world of GPUs, Intel first launched their super-sampling method with the Intel Arc Alchemist series. It’s been more than two years since XeSS arrived on the scene, and the technology has evolved significantly, now reaching the point where XeSS 2 is making its debut.
Though the newer version, XeSS 2, hasn’t become a staple just yet, the original XeSS 1.0 and its updates have found their place in a significant number of games. Today, Intel announced with pride that XeSS support has been integrated into over 150 games, with even more on the horizon.
For those interested, there’s a detailed list available that includes all the games featuring XeSS technology, highlighting several popular, modern triple-A titles. However, it’s important to mention that XeSS still doesn’t quite rival AMD’s FSR or NVIDIA’s DLSS in terms of widespread adoption.
On Twitter, Intel Gaming enthusiastically shared, “We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with #XeSS support, with more on the way!”
While Intel is unquestionably advancing, aiming to close the gap with its competitors, there’s still a lot of work to be done. Most of the titles currently utilize XeSS 1 and its latest iterations. Meanwhile, XeSS 2 is currently supported in just a couple of games, specifically F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. But, several upcoming and existing titles promise to incorporate the latest XeSS 2 features soon. Expectant titles include Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Killing Floor 3, and several others.
A few games do provide support for Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, yet it doesn’t have the widespread prevalence of FSR and DLSS Frame Gen techniques. Moreover, XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are designed to operate solely on Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs. Right now, only the Arc B580 and Arc B570 graphics cards have been released, though their availability remains limited.
As Intel continues to forge ahead, it’s an exciting time for gamers and developers alike, with Intel’s engagement in enhancing gaming experiences through innovative technology in full swing.
