Not too long ago, I’d swear by Razer when it came to gaming headsets. I spent countless hours with the Razer Kraken Ultimate, the Kraken V3 series, and the Kaira Pro, each of which enhanced my PC gaming experience. But earlier this October, I was introduced to a rival that’s been stealing the spotlight—Alienware’s Pro Wireless Gaming Headset from Dell. This headset impressed me so much that my beloved Razer collection now sits tucked away.
This premium headset from Alienware focuses on delivering superb sound, top mic quality, comfort, and unmatched wireless performance. It’s positioned as a luxury item, debuting at $229.99. Here’s some good news: with Black Friday sales underway, you can grab it for a markdown at $199.99 from Dell, offering a neat 13% discount.

Why I’ve Chosen the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset
This "Pro" model rounds out Alienware’s line of 2024 gaming accessories, complementing the Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and Pro Wireless Gaming Keyboard launched earlier. I declared this headset as "the best wireless gaming headset I’ve used in years" in my review, setting it above past Razer favorites like the Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense and the Kaira Pro.
One stand-out feature for me is the incredible microphone. With Razer, the mic quality was often just average. However, the unidirectional mic on the Alienware Pro is unmatched. It captures my voice clearly and crisply every time, a must-have since I nightly chat with friends on Discord. The AI noise cancellation can be a bit assertive, but rest assured—it blocks out ambient noise remarkably well, even when altered.
The sound quality is exceptional too. The headset features 50mm graphene-coated drivers with a wide frequency range from 20Hz to 40KHz, offering a rich, balanced audio experience. The volumes get impressively loud, and the audio output feels markedly more robust than recent Razer offerings, even without haptic feedback technologies like HyperSense.
The fit is slightly more snug compared to Razer headsets, but it’s lighter, allowing for nearly effortless wear. The adjustable headband and flexible frame cater to various head sizes, while the memory foam leatherette earcups promise comfort even during marathon gaming sessions. While Razer’s airy cushions are a tad cooler and roomier, the Alienware Pro comes very close in comfort.
From a design standpoint, Alienware has opted for a minimalist vibe, skipping vivid RGB lighting in favor of simple elegance with color options like "Lunar Light" and "Dark Side of the Moon." Well-crafted with several handy features, this headset offers onboard controls for volume, mic muting, and toggles between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth. Both connections work seamlessly, with a battery life hugging its 70-75 hour claim if you keep ANC off. Plus, there’s always the wired option should you need it.
Now, the only downsides? It’s not Xbox compatible, and the ANC is somewhat lackluster. These aren’t dealbreakers for me since I’m not an Xbox enthusiast and generally avoid ANC. If these are crucial for you, explore other top PC gaming headsets. But if they’re not big issues, this set is a fantastic choice, especially at the currently discounted price. Since I received this review unit, my Razer headsets haven’t seen the light of day, and honestly, they may never again.
When is Black Friday?
This annual shopping extravaganza lands the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S., so circle November 29, 2024, on your calendar. Retailers are already chasing consumer attention with early deals, so snapping up these discounts now might just be your smartest move. Holding out for better prices on the big day itself carries the risk of stockouts.
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday follows on December 2, 2024, wrapping up the intense Black Friday weekend. Many retailers take this moment to roll out fresh deals, so it’s wise to keep an eye on things after the weekend frenzy.
