On January 10, Marvel Rivals will welcome the likes of The Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman, as well as introduce a slew of exciting updates including new maps, a game mode, and more. Recently shared gameplay video highlights the action with our new Strategist in town, Invisible Woman. Adding to the excitement, Dracula takes up the mantle as the main antagonist for Season 1.
NetEase Games gave fans a sneak peek of the gameplay featuring The Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals. Besides the addition of these iconic heroes, the update will deliver fresh maps, a new game mode, and an all-new battle pass for players to delve into. And the wait won’t be long, as the new content arrives with Season 1: Eternal Darkness Falls at the crack of dawn on January 10, precisely at 1 AM PST.
With the rollout of Season 1, fans can rejoice with the debuts of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, but will need a touch of patience for the arrival of Human Torch and The Thing. Insights from a recent NetEase Games developer video indicate that their seasons will span about three months, with a significant mid-season update roughly halfway through. That’s when fans can expect the rest of The Fantastic Four crew to make their entry into Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals recently showcased Invisible Woman in action, with her unique abilities on full display. She stands out with an attack that damages foes and heals allies. Equipped with a knockback move, she maintains her strategic distance, and predictably, she can vanish for a limited time. The gameplay video further flaunts a double jump feature, upping her mobility, and her capability to erect a shield for her team. Not stopping there, her ultimate move cloaks an entire zone invisibly, confusing the battlefield for enemies from a distance.
In another teaser, NetEase Games unveiled Mister Fantastic in all his stretchy glory. His Duelist abilities show him reaching out to attack and bulking up defensively. This has led fans to believe he embodies a hybrid of Vanguard and Duelist, his health surpassing the typical DPS characters.
While The Fantastic Four’s induction stirs excitement, not all expectations were met, as some anticipated Blade’s debut in this season. Indiscretions from data miners revealed details about his abilities and character model, leading to speculations he would confront Dracula in Season 1. Alas, it seems Blade will be sitting out a bit longer, yet fans are eagerly anticipating NetEase Games’ next moves despite any minor letdowns.
