FragPunk spices up the tactical hero shooter genre with its own unique twist—13 distinct characters known as Lancers, providing a vibrant roster for players to experiment with. Each Lancer boasts a minimum of three supernatural abilities. Want to glide across the battlefield wielding an electric shotgun-guitar hybrid? Or maybe you’re looking to teleport your squad for a surprise attack? Perhaps healing teammates after an intense firefight is more your style. There’s a Lancer suited for almost any approach.
Presently, FragPunk prides itself on a mostly balanced lineup, meaning every Lancer has the potential to excel under the right circumstances. Be it mastering their nuances or opting for the best tactical fit, players can capitalize on each character’s strengths. However, not all Lancers deliver the same consistent impact. While some shine uniquely in attack or defense roles—and gain additional strength when paired with specific team strategies or Shard Cards—others maintain their utility universally.
Identifying the top-tier characters is especially crucial because players need Gold, FragPunk Coins, or Lancer Trophies to unlock many Lancers. Before you invest your resources on a lesser character, we’ve compiled a FragPunk tier list. This list ranks each Lancer from S to B tier, based on their usability, versatility, and overall impact:
FragPunk Tier List
S-Tier Characters: Nitro, Hollowpoint, Pathojen, Spider, Kismet
A-Tier Characters: Serket, Broker, Zephyr, Sonar, Corona
B-Tier Characters: Jaguar, Axon, Chum
S-Tier: Nitro
Imagination limits Nitro, not her abilities. Despite lacking mobility, her skills pack a punch. Her Chug Chug ability unleashes a drone that delivers 20 damage per shot, gathering intel stealthily while keeping Nitro safe. The Wall ability lets Nitro craft innovative sightlines, block attacks, or scale heights. Deploy Mr. Pewpew sentry turrets for defensive watch or surprise attacks—it’s a choice between taking turret damage or facing an exposed opponent.
Ideal for defense, Nitro adapts well even in offense, making her an indispensible pick, thanks to her versatility.
S-Tier: Hollowpoint
Hollowpoint stands out with a railgun that dominates in medium range or lands one-shot headshots from afar. Her Meteora lends reconnaissance, detecting invisibles like Zephyr. Meteora’s dual function as a secondary weapon works around the Shard Clash rule, offering an advantage with her sniper features.
Equipped with Smoke Screens for ultimate vision control, and Paparazzi traps to mark foes temporarily, she does require precision. But when utilized correctly on both sides of play, Hollowpoint’s impact is unmistakable.
S-Tier: Pathojen
Pathojen directly finds herself in S-Tier due to her unmatched AOE healing ability in FragPunk. Her Emotional Rescue ensures team healing consistency where others depend on luck. Her Shroom Wall provides defensive capabilities while blocking paths. Lastly, her Killer Queen sets a trap to halt enemy progress or inflict tactical blows on planted Converters.
Her functionality ensures teams often mirror enemy Pathojens, leveraging her poison immunity.
S-Tier: Spider
Although requiring team synergy to maximize his Teleporter ability, Spider’s potential for creative plays and safe rotations makes him noteworthy. Spirited Away teleports foes back to its initial cast point, ideally setting them up for elimination. His Spider Trap narrows the field for enemies, impeding their actions, particularly near teleportation points.
While solo players may find less value in Spider, he excels in coordinated teams.
S-Tier: Kismet
Known for her Walk on the Wild Side ability, Kismet becomes invisible and invincible temporarily. This dual advantage facilitates strategic movement or escape. Meanwhile, Hello, Goodbye offers wall-penetrating scans and Misery Angel rains down damage, aiding in stealthy confrontations with potential to surprise adversaries.
A-Tier: Serket
Serket covers ground with Station to Station, a teleport feature that doubles as reconnaissance. Her Gold Dust Woman creates moving obstructions, while Dilemma drags enemies into crossfire. Though slightly behind S-Tier peers, minor buffs could readily elevate her standing.
A-Tier: Broker
Broker nears top-tier with his area-locking skills. Goddard’s Vengeance rockets inflict serious damage, while Smokestack Lightning obscures large areas effectively. Cherry Bombs add strategic depth when needing space control.
A-Tier: Zephyr
If not for pervasive traps, Zephyr’s stealth approach would secure S-Tier easily. Midnight Rambler grants invisibility with caveats, while Fade Away ensures zone-bound invisibility sustainability. Her Get Back beacon adds a dimension of quick retreat under threat.
A-Tier: Sonar
Sonar excels in intelligence gathering through Echolocation and sonic disturbances. While her mobility is limited, her ability to identify enemy positions is invaluable in strategy adaptation.
A-Tier: Corona
Corona thrives on ability synergy, mixing speed with quick blinding action via Hothead. Despite being deeply effective in head-to-head combat, he relies on shielded teamwork to avoid disadvantages in trickier spots.
B-Tier: Jaguar
Despite upgrades, Jaguar lags behind, as many abilities find superior counterparts in other Lancers, resulting in a situational advantage rather than consistent value.
B-Tier: Axon
A frontrunner in aggression, Axon excels in close quarters. Yet, his utility is less effective with stealthier adversaries like Hollowpoint or maps promoting long-range engagements.
B-Tier: Chum
Viable yet niche, Chum relies significantly on Chomper, an easier target for destruction. Effective in specific settings with Smoke Mode, Chum fares best under tactical teamwork.
