Feeling a bit teased by all the buzz around Dune Awakening but haven’t had a chance to dive in yourself? Good news—it won’t be long until you can get your hands on it. Starting May 9 and wrapping up on May 12, there’s a free open beta weekend.
To snag access, you’ll need to wishlist the game before May 9, or be among the fortunate ones to catch one of the “thousands” of beta codes that will be handed out during the weekend. Think of it as an invitation-only open house for the lucky few.
Interesting timing, too—this beta arrives just days before the original release date of May 15, which was postponed to give Funcom a bit more breathing room to polish everything up for the official launch.
During the beta, you’ll explore the first two regions, offering around 20 hours of gameplay if you’re thorough. Expect to navigate a few Research Facilities, test out early class abilities, and dive into some PvP action at ship crash sites. It’s a solid sampler of what’s to come. If you’re curious, we’ve got a fresh preview out today, delving into this very slice of the game.
