Game Source Entertainment, teamed up with Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT), has revealed that their rhythm-based roguelike action game, Ratatan, will soon be landing on Nintendo Switch.
This game is being hailed as the spiritual successor to Japan Studio and Pyramid’s much-loved Patapon. It transports players to the lively island of Rataport, a place brimming with life against the backdrop of a tranquil sea. Here, you’ll encounter Ratatan, an intriguing creature living contentedly alongside their friends, the Cobun.
Despite their distinctive looks and unique personalities, all these characters share an unwavering dream: to journey to The Everafter and meet The Goddess believed to reside there. No matter how many setbacks they face, their determination to achieve this goal never wavers.
Patapon series producer Hiroyuki Kotani is lending his expertise to the development of Ratatan. In this game, players take on the role of Ratatan, wielding magical instruments to control the Cobun armies through rhythmic commands. Mastering the rhythm sequences unlocks Fever Mode, a thrilling state where the music dynamically shifts, and characters engage in special actions.
Fans can look forward to Ratatan’s digital release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch, slated for a worldwide launch in 2025.
