For $10,000, I’d happily consider naming my first kid Turok—though I must admit, children aren’t quite in the picture for me just yet.
Did you catch that Xenoblade X is headed to the Switch? And with “New Story Elements” to boot! They’re throwing that right in our faces in the trailer, and I find it incredibly annoying and yet somehow intriguing.
In other news, Nintendo has rolled out a music app of some sort. Interesting, right? And there’s a little cameo from what they’re humorously calling bloodvertising. What’s next?
After we took a short breather, Gui dove into some classic brawlers. We’ve got the Switch version of Double Dragon Advance, and it’s a blast to revisit, let me tell you. Then there’s the Arcade Archives’ Metamorphic Force, both worth checking out.
Meanwhile, Jon’s been diving into the Monster Hunter Wilds beta. He’s got a lot to say about that one. As for Greg, he’s embracing the spooky atmosphere with some Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Castlevania—perfect for this time of year, don’t you think? And James wrapped things up in the New Business section with Rogue Flight, which is heavily inspired by Star Fox. It’s a thrilling ride, for sure.
And here’s a heads-up: next week marks a milestone with episode 900. We’d love your input, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
On the production side, Guillaume Veillette lent his editing expertise to this episode. Perry Burkum crafted our “Men of Leisure” theme specifically for Radio Free Nintendo. If you’re curious, more of Perry’s work is over on his SoundCloud. Connor Strickland designed our logo, and you can see more of his creativity on his website.
To cap off this episode, we’ve got “Melancholia” from Xenoblade Chronicles X playing us out, composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. Shoutout to A.G. and Juan C. for requesting this masterpiece. Remember, all rights are reserved by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
