Rebecka Coutaz, who has impressively navigated her role as the general manager of DICE, is stepping up to take the reins at the UK developer Criterion as well.
As reported by GI.biz, Coutaz is now embracing the title of VP and GM of Battlefield Studios Europe. Since contributing to EA’s leading shooter with 2016’s Battlefield 1, Criterion will continue to play a key role alongside Motive and Ripple Effect, based in the US.
Coutaz joined DICE as VP and GM in November 2021, bringing her expertise from her previous leadership at Ubisoft’s Annecy studio. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “From the moment I joined DICE in 2021, I’ve been inspired by the incredibly talented and diverse team here. It’s a privilege to now further expand my role, steering the future of these two legendary studios, each with its own distinct and storied past.”
She added, “DICE and Criterion have long been trailblazers within the European gaming sphere. My goal is to empower both teams to break new ground and innovate, ultimately enhancing the player experience. By tapping into the creative spirit of each studio, we aim to expand the Battlefield franchise worldwide, working closely with Motive and Ripple Effect. We’re at the cusp of an exciting era for Battlefield, and I’m eager to welcome passionate individuals who want to join us on this exciting journey.”
