It was the night before the big update, and all the gamers were deep into their Xbox adventures, burning the midnight oil as usual. Just as the games were getting intense, a surprise message popped up on their screens—there was a new system update ready to download. Naturally, this brought a wave of excitement.
Packed with numerous fixes and several exciting features, the update ensured players could dive back into battling their in-game foes with renewed enthusiasm.
Now, listen up, Insiders! We’ve got a brief, yet holiday-themed update from the community just in time for the festive season. First and foremost, the team wishes everyone the happiest holidays and a safe start to the new year! Personally, I might not be the greatest fan of the cold, dark winter days, but they still rolled in just the same. These early sunsets and chilly breezes are perfect excuses to get cozy in sweaters and settle in for some quality Xbox gaming indoors.
Just like in years past, our team has put a pause on releasing preview builds for both consoles and PCs, all to maintain top-notch stability for everyone enjoying their Xbox experience during the holidays. That said, we’re still hard at work on what’s coming next! We’re actively reviewing feedback and are ready to tackle any hitches you might encounter. Be sure to keep an eye on the Insider Hub for fresh content throughout December and January!
From Our Team to You
A heartfelt thank you goes out to each one of you for being such an integral part of this community. I can’t stress enough how proud I am to be involved with the Xbox Insider Program. Your support doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s deeply appreciated.
Before wrapping things up, I touched base with a few team members to see how they’re spending their time this month, whether it’s gaming adventures, downtime, or just about anything they wanted to share! Here’s what they’re up to:
-
Jon: Aiming to wrap up Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as well as the Ode to Castlevania DLC in Vampire Survivors.
-
Joshua: Excited to rewatch all the classic holiday films and dive into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
-
Tim: Diving into Nine Sols, despite knowing it might be a challenge, and looking forward to family visits from out of town.
-
Donovan: Eager to spend time with family, play Path of Exile 2, and indulge in nostalgic Christmas movies to get into the holiday spirit.
-
Sally: Enjoying lots of cookies, relaxing with cozy games, and hoping for new PowerWash Simulator DLC, along with spending quality time with loved ones.
- Leland: Throughout the year, I start story-games but put them on hold if I get invested. My strict rule is two games at a time. If I find another that needs to be added, the current ones must battle it out for their place. I then dedicate a week in mid-December for complete immersion in these games. This tradition is magical for me, and it’s just around the corner.
As for myself, I’ve finally conquered the Black Ops 6 camo grind, which means I can truly start enjoying the game now! I’m also planning to complete the achievements in Aliens: Dark Descent and fight off Jack Frost to keep our pond from freezing over.
But what about you? We’d love to hear about your gaming endeavors or holiday plans this month! Join the conversation over on our subreddit under the December Community update post, pinned at the top. I’ll be checking in regularly as ScantilyCloud to chat and answer any questions. Plus, feel free to share any 2024 game recommendations with us—our backlogs can always handle a bit more.
