Last week, Monster Hunter Wilds nearly stole the show in pre-order excitement, becoming the third most popular title on Steam. As anticipation builds for its February 28th launch, this latest installment in Capcom’s acclaimed action RPG series climbed the chart, suggesting gamers are eagerly awaiting what promises to be an epic adventure. Reflecting on Monster Hunter World’s success back in 2019, it was surprising yet gratifying to see PC becoming one of the strongest platforms for these titles from the Japanese developer.
Meanwhile, Counter-Strike 2 reclaimed its spot at the top, and Civilization 7 made an impressive climb to second place. This strategic masterpiece entered the fray on February 10th, and despite limited initial sales data, its performance speaks volumes about its appeal. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 slipped three positions, landing in fourth, but still boasted a commendable two million sales. An impressive 22-place jump by Apex Legends, landing it in fifth, marks the release of its exciting new season, which clearly thrilled fans.
Elsewhere on the chart, Valve’s Steam Deck, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Marvel Rivals each slid down a notch, securing sixth, seventh, and eighth places respectively. Meanwhile, Avowed, the eagerly awaited RPG from Obsidian, made its debut at number nine. Warframe made a triumphant return to the Top Ten, climbing two spots to round out the list.
