Kluge Interactive, known for the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders (2019), is gearing up to release its latest project, a VR fighting game titled FINAL FURY. This much-anticipated game will soon be available in early access on both Quest and SteamVR headsets.
Mark your calendars for May 8th, as that’s when Final Fury hits Quest 2 and above, along with PC VR setups. The game promises to deliver classic 1v1 arcade fighting action, reimagined in VR through an innovative gesture-based gameplay system.
With insights from nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong, the team has crafted an experience blending hand gestures and room-scale movement. Players will step into the shoes of six unique fighters, each with their own set of moves and stages, with even more content expected after launch.
“When Kluge Interactive reached out to me about FINAL FURY, I was immediately intrigued by how they planned to merge traditional fighting game mechanics with a first-person VR perspective,” Wong shared. “After testing and refining features like dashes, grabs, and character styles, I’m eager to see how players will interact with the game when it drops into Early Access.”
Once it launches, players can look forward to:
-
You Are the Fighter! – Experience truly immersive VR combat with authentic punches, dodges, and blocks.
-
Innovative VR Combat – Enjoy nostalgic fighter mechanics that have been adapted for a more physical style of gameplay.
-
Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each bringing unique powers, arenas, and styles, with more additions on the way.
-
Arcade Mode Unlocks – Battle AI opponents to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
-
Online Multiplayer – Engage in smooth, competitive play across platforms, backed by rollback netcode.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – Groove to an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for his work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Eager fans can wishlist Final Fury right now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, and on Steam for PC VR headsets. The game will be available on May 8th at a price of $9.99.
