Last week, fans of Resist on PlayStation VR2 were treated to the game’s first update since its release. This update brings some exciting changes to the table. Notably, for those gaming on the PS5 Pro, the game now runs by default at a smooth 120Hz, enhancing the experience with a much more fluid and comfortable visual performance.
The update doesn’t stop there. It addresses a few pesky issues players might have encountered. The aggravating social screen tearing problem has been fixed. Additionally, you should no longer have to worry about the bizarre situation where characters would plunge through the virtual world or the game freezing on a black screen when trying to switch languages.
Binary Mill shared more about these improvements in a Twitter post: “Resist’s first PlayStation VR2 update is now live, featuring some fixes and new PS5 Pro 120Hz support.” The tweet also detailed the fixes, noting improvements in screen performance and language-switching stability.
Originally launched on Oculus Quest in 2021 and making its way to PC VR the following year, Resist has drawn positive comparisons to the Spider-Man series, which has been a staple for Sony consoles. This resonance made its enhanced debut on PS VR2 feel quite fitting. While features like eye-tracking are probably going to remain exclusive to this platform, there’s buzz among the PC gaming community about whether they, too, might enjoy the newfound higher refresh rate.
For now, Binary Mill hasn’t issued any promises regarding these additions for PC users. However, they did offer a small teaser about their upcoming Quest game, Into Black, which is also slated for PS VR2. They’ve assured fans it’s shaping up well and should be available sooner rather than later.
So, as VR enthusiasts relish these updates, it’s an exciting time for players keen on exploring new virtual landscapes.
