This week, the Nintendo Switch eShop is stirring up excitement with a fresh batch of SNES games, new music tracks for Nintendo’s audio app, tempting sales, and a lineup of upcoming titles that will keep players on their toes.
Nintendo Switch Online is beefing up its library with a quartet of classics from Koei, hearkening back to the glory days of the SNES. We’re revisiting Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period through Nobunaga’s Ambition and its sequel, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness. Both games, initially launched in the early ’90s, let you navigate the chaos of civil war as you strive to bring peace to the land.
Next in line, we have Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire, a 1994 title that takes you right into the heart of China’s historical turmoil. Based on the storied novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, this turn-based strategy game lets you play the part of a ruler, tasked with bringing unity to a land rife with conflict.
Embarking on a different voyage is Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Set during the Age of Discovery in Europe, this 1993 release invites you into a world of sailing and trading. It’s all about exploration, with countless treasures waiting to be unearthed while commanding your fleet on the high seas.
Switching gears to music, the Nintendo Music app is expanding its library in a quirky way. It’s adding part of a soundtrack from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, featuring 23 tracks. What about the rest? Hopefully, those tunes will drop into the app later on.
As for what’s new in the Nintendo Switch eShop, the highlight this week is Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. Last week, we had a chat with Turtle Flip Studio, the brains behind this title, on the Pure Nintendo Podcast. Be sure to catch our chat and stay tuned for our upcoming review.
So, that wraps up the latest happenings on the eShop. Which games are catching your eye? Drop us a line and tell us what’s occupying your gaming hours!
