PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are in for something special this year. So far, four games are set to join the service’s Game Catalog when they debut. Among them is FBC: Firebreak, the multiplayer first-person shooter from Remedy Entertainment, which has announced a target release for Summer 2025.
FBC: Firebreak takes place in The Oldest House, the headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Control and the iconic setting of Remedy’s acclaimed action game, Control. This time, rather than diving deep into lore and narrative as in previous titles, the developers are dialing up the focus on gameplay. They aim to craft a live-service experience, steering clear of those pesky FOMO elements often associated with the genre. The approach here is refreshingly player-friendly: all content will be available for free, allowing you to dive in at any pace you prefer.
The latest trailer introduces an intriguing mission called the Paper Chase Job, just one in a series of captivating tasks within FBC: Firebreak. In this mission, the Firebreak Initiative must tackle an unusual challenge: clearing a spot in The Oldest House that’s overrun by rogue sticky notes. Also featured in the trailer are various loadouts that players can use as they work to fend off the Hiss threat.
Upon release, FBC: Firebreak will be accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through both the Epic Games Store and Steam.
As I mentioned earlier, this game is only one of four exciting titles you can explore via the Game Catalog at launch. Joining it are Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers already have access to the first part of Lost Records, with its second chapter scheduled to hit next month.
In addition, PlayStation Plus members enjoy exclusive early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale, offering excellent discounts on popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
