Just yesterday, Bigscreen unveiled the anticipated orders for its Beyond 2 PC VR headset, a device that promises enhanced field-of-view and clarity thanks to its innovative pancake lens design. Remarkably, in less than half a day, Beyond 2 has already surpassed the sales figures of its predecessor, the original Beyond.
In a series of lively updates on the social platform X, Bigscreen shared some striking figures that highlight the VR community’s enthusiasm. “Within the first 25 minutes, sales of Beyond 2 topped those of Beyond 1’s entire launch day. After just an hour, we’d already doubled the sales from Beyond 1’s first day,” they tweeted proudly.
As hours passed, more impressive sales stats rolled in for Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking cousin, Beyond 2e. The latest numbers were simply stunning; within just 10 hours of being available, Beyond 2 managed to outsell what Beyond 1 had achieved in its first four months.
If you’re wondering about delivery, at the time of reporting, shipments for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are now slated for June 2025 due to the overwhelming demand, which already filled up initial batches scheduled for April and May.
But what’s driving all this excitement around Beyond 2? For one, there’s the seamless upgrade path that Bigscreen has crafted. Existing Beyond 1 owners can enjoy significant discounts: picking up Beyond 2 for $849 or getting the Beyond 2e for $1049. Better yet, it’s backward-compatible with most Beyond 1 accessories, including the personalized facial interface necessary for the first model.
Beyond 2 itself is impressive, featuring a new pancake lens setup that delivers a sweeping 116-degree diagonal field of view. It sports an adjustable IPD mechanism and a feather-light 107-gram design, with the 2e variant bringing AI-powered eye-tracking to the mix. It retains the dual 1-inch, 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays of the original, but with revamped lenses offering superior clarity and wider FOV.
Currently, Beyond 2 and 2e are priced at $1,019 and $1,219, respectively (with discounts for original Beyond owners). Alongside the headset, Bigscreen also introduced a fresh halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, expected to make their appearance in Q3 2025.
All of these can be explored and purchased directly on the Bigscreen website. It seems like an exciting time indeed for VR enthusiasts everywhere!
