The Helldivers 2 community has hit a rough patch. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the mission to eliminate 1,000,000,000 Automatons and 1,500,000,000 Terminids was unsuccessful. This setback means that the Helldivers couldn’t complete a critical blockade around the Meridian Singularity of the Illuminate. Consequently, more Dark Energy than anyone would like slipped through, causing a catastrophic event as it plunged into the planet Moradesh, leading to its destruction.
But there’s no time to dwell on what’s lost. High Command has already tasked the Helldivers with a new Major Order: protect the planets Achernar Secundus, Fenrir III, Ursica XI, and Heeth from a Terminid onslaught. Holding these territories for the next three and a half days will provide Super Earth’s top scientists an opportunity to set up a Penrose Energy Siphon in orbit, which could be key in reducing the black hole’s increasing Dark Energy.
While the focus shifts to defense, some players have discovered intriguing messages within the game’s universe—notably from Arrowhead Game Studios’ alerts about Moradesh’s fall. The videos “Destruction Imminent” and “Signal Lost” have caught the attention of the community, sparking detailed investigations on forums such as r/Helldivers. Here are some of their findings:
Community members have been using spectrograms to analyze the videos, uncovering Morse code, an enigmatic egg shape, energy beams, and a skewed planetary horizon. One sharp-eyed player, u/Possible_Monitor_215, even spotted a clearer planetary view hidden in a corner of the “Signal Lost” video.
Decoding the Morse has proven tricky, but determined fans are working together in a shared document to crack it. A significant lead is the string “06EFBC,” which appears to be a hexadecimal color code pointing to Rogue 5 on the galaxy’s southern edge. When aligned on a color wheel over the game’s Galactic War map, it sits precisely over Rogue 5.
This has led to speculation that the Illuminate might be planning to use Rogue 5 as a central hub. Given its vast, deep oceans, it would certainly suit the squid-like aquatic Illuminate. It’s worth noting that Helldivers previously thwarted an Illuminate advancement on Rogue 5 during a prior Automaton Major Order.
The images in the videos, combined with a part of the freezeframe from “Signal Lost,” suggest Rogue 5 could be the planet in question. Its soft bluish hues are very reminiscent of the spectrogram capture, but some argue it might be the Squ’bai Shrine, the Illuminate home world from a previous galactic conflict—a world not yet featured in Helldivers 2, yet sharing similar visual traits.
The real significance of these cryptic revelations remains uncertain. Some players fear it hints at a bold move by the Illuminate, possibly planning a massive strike via the Meridian Singularity. Meanwhile, others think a more strategic use of Rogue 5 is at play. One thing’s for certain: none of this spells anything good for the Helldivers.
For now, the focus is on defending those essential four planets from the impending Terminid threat. The Helldivers must hold their ground to curtail the black hole’s momentum. Failure could result in the next world, Ivis, becoming a victim of the Singularity’s path.
Gear up and choose the best anti-bug setups, soldiers. It’s time to stand your ground.
For fans of cooperative gameplay, intense sci-fi skirmishes, and a sprinkle of humorous narrative, Helldivers 2 is an unbeatable choice, making waves on both PC and PS5. While its retail price is typically around $40, deals, such as the one from CDKeys, often bring it below $30, offering explosive entertainment without breaking the bank.
