February 2025 might not be the blockbuster month for gaming releases with notable titles being pushed back, but it still holds exciting news for gamers. Keep Driving, the unique driving RPG where you engage in turn-based battles while gathering resources, is set to make its debut this month.
For those not already in the loop, I had the chance to dive into the Steam Next Fest demo of Keep Driving last year, and, let me tell you, I only got defeated by a puddle once. The game’s premise is rather delightful: you’re embarking on a road trip to a buddy’s house, but it’s not just a leisurely drive. Both you and your trusty vehicle face the typical road challenges and the human necessities of food and sleep along the journey.
Good news for all you PC gamers—Keep Driving is officially hitting Steam on February 6, thanks to a fun announcement from its Swedish developers, YCJY Games, on Twitter. They even rolled out a fresh trailer, showcasing thrilling turn-based car fights with tractors, sheep, and yes, those pesky potholes. You also get a sneak peek at a couple of new vehicles to stuff with essentials for you, your car, and any hitchhikers you pick up along the way. While I enjoyed cruising in the demo’s not-quite-Volvo, there’s something tempting about the thought of tackling the road in a pickup truck too, channeling my inner Johnny Cash fan.
The game is currently a PC exclusive, but one of the developers gave us a hint on Twitter that a console version could be in the works, mentioning that they’re “not really sure which consoles yet, besides Switch.” Fingers crossed for a PS2 version so I can seamlessly jump between this and Need For Speed Underground.
In the meantime, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the full version of Keep Driving captures the enchanting charm I loved the first time around. Keep those excitement levels high!
