At the moment, this game trial is exclusively available on the PS5 and can be downloaded from the PS Store. While Nacon has hinted that they are planning to make trials available for other platforms, no additional information has been released yet.
Excitingly, a tweet from the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Twitter account announced the news: “A free trial is coming soon to PS5®! From December 27 at 9 AM UTC to December 31 at 9 AM UTC, Test Drive Unlimited Crown will be playable for free with no time limits! Prepare to explore Hong Kong Island and the capital of Ibiza behind the wheel of exceptional cars!”
The game initially launched in September 2024 but received a mixed reception. While its PS5 edition has a Metacritic score of 55/100, only 7% of critics on OpenCritic recommend it.
Critiques frequently target the game’s lackluster presentation and overall polish, especially when compared to its peers in the racing genre. Although it’s marked as ‘PS5 Pro enhanced’ in the PS Store, it’s unclear how much this enhancement impacts the experience.
