You can now sign up to be part of the stress testing for Larian Studio’s upcoming major update to Baldur’s Gate 3.
This test serves a dual purpose. It gives players a sneak peek at all the exciting additions in store for Baldur’s Gate 3 and helps the developers iron out any lingering kinks in the update. To join in on the action, simply follow the provided link to register. Xbox users should ensure they’re a part of the Xbox Insider Program and keep an eye out for further instructions.
Bear in mind, not all who register will be able to participate right away. Invitations will be sent out in waves starting from January, so if you’re not among the first batch, just hang tight—your turn will come soon enough.
Larian has previously outlined that Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will bring in three significant features alongside the usual bug fixes. Expect cross-play connectivity across all platforms, 12 new subclasses—one for each existing class—and a revamped photo mode boasting a plethora of camera and sticker choices. While a precise release date isn’t set just yet, stay tuned for updates.
Expressing his thoughts on the future direction of Larian Studios at the Game Developers Conference on March 21, studio founder Swen Vincke shared, “Baldur’s Gate 3 will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We’re immensely proud of it, but we won’t be continuing with expansions or jumping onto Baldur’s Gate 4 as some might expect. Our path forward involves moving away from Dungeons & Dragons and embarking on the journey of creating something completely new.”
