COLD VR, inspired by the long-lasting success of SUPERHOT VR from 2016, is gearing up for its release on Quest and PC VR headsets next month, with a PlayStation VR 2 version following at a later date.
SUPERHOT VR may be a classic, yet it’s surprising how few developers have attempted to emulate its distinctive time-stopping action. COLD VR gives it a fresh twist. Instead of slowing down to manipulate time, this game challenges you to pick up the pace. As you decelerate, time speeds up, along with the relentless pursuit of enemies. Linger too long on your plan, and you’ll be in trouble.
ALLWARE, the developer, has just revealed a new trailer and announced their partnership with Perp Games to launch COLD VR on Quest and PC VR headsets starting January 21, 2025. PlayStation VR 2 enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer, as that release is slated for a future date, according to the announcement.
The game boasts not only smarter enemy AI but also perilous environmental challenges like lethal lasers, shifting platforms, and surprises for the bravest explorers, as per ALLWARE’s reports.
Carlos Alfonso from ALLWARE shared his excitement, saying, “Creating COLD VR has been an amazing adventure. We’ve had incredible support from Perp Games, and I’m thrilled to bring players a truly unique gaming experience with time as a core mechanic. Their help has been crucial in reaching more people than I ever thought possible. With Perp’s support, COLD VR will be available on PSVR2 and Quest, which is a dream come true for reaching a larger audience. I’m extremely excited for what’s in store!”
If you’re eager to jump into this innovative VR world, you can add COLD VR to your wishlist on all major platforms now, priced at $19.99 / £14.99 / €19.99. It will be available on the Horizon Store for Quest 2/3/Pro users, Steam for PC VR, and the PlayStation Store for those with PSVR 2.
