There’s some buzzing news from the gaming world as Polish developer Dark Passenger has managed to secure a hefty $3 million in funding. This growing studio, established by former CD Projekt veterans, snagged the investment thanks to a successful pitch led by The Games Fund and supported by Blite Fund. They’re channeling this financial boost into their inaugural project, an ambitious third-person multiplayer stealth action game nestled in the captivating era of feudal Japan.
Jakub Ben, the CEO of Dark Passenger, shared some insights, expressing, “The multiplayer gaming scene is teeming with possibilities, yet there’s so much more that can be explored. It requires a mix of creativity, confidence, and clarity of vision to truly grasp our path forward, and we’ve found these qualities with The Games Fund.”
Ben continued, emphasizing that “This investment changes everything for us. It’s not just about the financial support but about growing our talented team and laying down the bedrock for our project so we can concentrate on bringing our vision to life.”
From The Games Fund’s perspective, co-founder Ilia Eremeev weighed in saying, “There’s a noticeable gap in the market for games willing to push boundaries and offer those raw, exhilarating experiences that make players go, ‘Hell yeah!’ After we got a look at Dark Passenger’s initial demo, we could tell they’re on a path to deliver exactly that.”
Eremeev went on to say, “The quality they achieved with such a compact team and limited time was nothing short of extraordinary. Our goals and vision were immediately in sync – to create a thrilling, undiluted power fantasy. We’re excited to embark on this journey with these talented founders.”
