Over the past year, we’ve been thrilled by the increasing support and enthusiasm from players using the Xbox app on Windows PC. We’re excited to announce that the enhanced Home experience we have been trialing with Xbox Insiders is now live for everyone. This update makes it quicker and simpler for players to locate their go-to games and discover exciting new ones.
The Home section now prominently showcases featured content, ensuring gamers are always in the loop with the latest game releases, upcoming events, Game Pass content, deals, and much more. It boasts curated collections, personalized recommendations, attractive deals, and discounts. Plus, the “Jump back in” feature in Compact Mode is a game-changer, allowing players to dive back into their games right from the main hub at the click of a button.
For many, the app is the go-to for discovering and launching fantastic titles from Game Pass. However, it’s also becoming a remarkable resource for finding Xbox games that aren’t part of Game Pass.
This past summer, we began collaborating with partners to bring PC games with Xbox enhancements into the Xbox app ecosystem. We’re eager to see the lineup of Xbox games arriving on Windows PC from creative developers in the coming months. We’re thrilled to highlight nearly 400 games that previously weren’t accessible or purchasable through the app.
This list includes numerous games from esteemed Japanese studios like Kemco and Kairosoft. You’ll also find hits like Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club, The Jackbox Party Pack, The Invincible by Double 11, and many more.
Excitingly, over a hundred of these newcomers support Xbox Play Anywhere, which means if you purchase one version on console, you can play it on PC as well, and vice versa. Many players appreciate these features, including universal Xbox ownership, consistent cloud saves, and cross-play capabilities across console, PC, and potentially other platforms, depending on developer choices.
With the expanding category of Windows handheld gaming, this development provides an excellent opportunity for game developers to connect with both their existing and potential audiences. Gamers have the liberty to enjoy their favorite titles and play with friends, no matter where they are.
