In Fortnite, nothing quite matches the sheer joy that comes from emoting. Whether you’re busting out the griddy as your favorite cartoon hero or grooving to Chappell Roan, emotes have become an essential part of the Fortnite experience. While these emotes are definitely here to stay, the developers have thrown in a playful twist for Chapter 6, Season 1. There’s now a particular spot on the map where emoting will quite literally knock you out of the game.
Welcome to Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1: Hunters, where a fresh new map and loot pool draw inspiration from Japan. Prepare to battle against Godzilla, then channel your anime ninja skills by wall-jumping and ledge-jumping through vibrant new locales. But amid all this excitement, the developers have implemented a cunning little feature on the map—a place where you’ll face a hefty punishment for breaking into dance moves.
If you’re up for the challenge, head over to the mountain located just northwest of Foxy Floodgate. Make your way about halfway down the slope to a spot marked by a sign and some traffic barriers, all perched around a picturesque overlook. You’ll recognize the area by the sprite shrine nearby. The sign features a silhouette of a Fortnite character dancing, crossed out in red. Should you decide to emote here, your character will be unceremoniously launched into oblivion, resulting in an untimely demise. Curious to see it for yourself? Check out the video below.
Despite all the changes, some things remain consistent. Fortnite has never shied away from its goofy essence. I still chuckle at the idea of characters from Dragon Ball and Avatar: The Last Airbender rocking a pair of Nikes. It’s these quirky little jokes that make the game such a delight to play.
