Treyarch just pulled off a quick fix on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List event, which had a bit of a hiccup with its elimination tracking. These eliminations are crucial in the game, especially for unlocking some neat rewards like a Weapon Charm and a Calling Card. Although the back-end systems were always counting everything correctly, it was the display that needed a bit of tweaking, and the developers were fast to address it.
The Hit List event kicked off on November 21 and is ongoing until December 4. This event adds a fun challenge for players as they aim to rack up eliminations across Warzone, Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, and Zombies. These eliminations let players collect Skulls, which can then be swapped for rewards, such as the mentioned Weapon Charm and Calling Card. There are also some bigger community rewards when significant milestones are achieved, including a Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon that unlocks at a whopping 50 billion eliminations. Fortunately, any display issues for these eliminations were sorted out quickly after Treyarch’s look into it.
The CODUpdates Twitter handle brought attention to a glitch in the Hit List stats — eliminations were getting frozen at 25 billion, even though the real count was still being tracked correctly behind the scenes. Thankfully, no progress was actually lost during this little snag. CODUpdates provided insights with their post, linking to a Trello board used by Black Ops 6 for tracking game issues. Good news spread quickly that a fix was implemented already. However, other bugs like mantle speed issues, problems with the Dark Ops Calling Card, and custom class melee mishaps are still waiting in the wings for their fixes.
This particular fix came out just hours after being flagged, showing Treyarch’s ability to swiftly handle game event troubles. The community’s efforts blew right past that troublesome 25B cap, even reaching the stage unlocking the Hand Cannon Scorestreak. With the milestone met, players have likely moved on to unlock the next reward phase, too. Given the progress and time left in the event, it’s looking really promising that every community reward will get unlocked.
While the Hit List problem seems wrapped up now, it appears Treyarch implemented the fix through a hotfix rather than a full-on update patch. So, players didn’t notice any download interruptions. Remember, as Treyarch focuses on polishing Black Ops 6, expect the remaining known issues to be fixed in subsequent updates.
