As the Xbox Series X/S enters another year, Microsoft’s console is slowly building a substantial game library. Typically, consoles don’t hit their stride until halfway through their lifecycle when developers shift their focus from catering to older systems to creating titles exclusively for the latest technology. Although the Xbox Series X/S hasn’t reached that point yet, the transition is underway.
In recent years, we’ve seen a slew of amazing games, especially in the open-world category. Titles like Elden Ring, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands made a splash in 2022, offering a mix of different adventures. 2023 carried on this legacy with releases like Dead Space, Street Fighter 6, Hi-Fi Rush, Remnant 2, Forza Motorsport, and Lies of P. So what’s in store for Xbox fans? Let’s dive into the most anticipated games slated for release in 2024.
Remember, we’ll be focusing on the North American release dates for both Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One games, along with their expansions.
Updated November 27, 2024: As we near the end of the year, game announcements have slowed down, especially for 2024. However, we’ve added new entries to the upcoming Xbox calendar, including Railroads Online, Road Maintenance Simulator 2 – Winter Services, Hunting Simulator 3, Glitch Hero, Penguin’s Road, Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop, Love Too Easily, and Beat the Machine: Rebooted.
